Joe Burrow again playing key role recruiting free agents to Bengals

Roughly a year ago, Joe Burrow played a key role in recruiting free agents to his Cincinnati Bengals, something guys like Riley Reiff even confirmed after putting ink to paper.

And now it sounds like he’s doing it again.

Multiple reports confirmed on Thursday night that Burrow himself, at the very least of what we know, attended a dinner with Zac Taylor and free agents Alex Cappa and Ted Karras, two signees the team was set to announce.

The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. also reported that Burrow was active and involved on the La’el Collins front. The team had a big interest in the star right tackle after the Cowboys cut him and Collins quickly scheduled a visit with the Bengals. Of course, there’s also the LSU connection between Burrow, Collins and others on the roster, too.

We don’t know if Burrow’s influence will be enough to secure Collins as his right tackle of the future like it helped the team nail down other free agents last year (and this offseason, most likely), but it’s clear he’s putting in the offseason legwork to help his team improve.

And not only that, we know of multiple instances of the Joe Burrow effect working quite well.
