Joe Biden urged to respond to Iranian-backed terror attack

Joe Biden U.S. President Joe Biden delivers remarks on his efforts to curb so-called junk fees, in Washington

In a recent news conference, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham emphasized the importance of a strong response from the United States following the recent Iranian-backed terror attack in Jordan, which resulted in the death of three American service members and numerous injuries. Graham expressed disappointment in President Joe Biden's lack of action, noting that Iran was emboldened due to the administration's failure to respond to previous attacks.

Graham pointed to the successful deterrence achieved by the previous administration under President Donald Trump, highlighting the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, which generated fear among Iranian leadership. He urged President Biden to take decisive action by targeting Iran's oil infrastructure, a move that would hit them in the wallet and create a sense of fear.

The senator stressed that the Iranian regime only responds when they are confronted directly and face the consequences of their actions. He passionately called on President Biden to protect American troops by hitting Iran hard and immediately. Graham argued that a strong response is necessary because it is the only language the Iranians understand.

Moreover, Graham expressed concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East. He emphasized that American soldiers are stationed in the region to prevent the resurgence of terrorist organizations like ISIS and Al Qaeda that pose a threat to the United States. Iran, he claimed, seeks to drive the United States out of the Middle East, putting American interests and safety at risk.

In addition to the Iranian threat, Graham highlighted another serious concern: the increasing cyberattacks by Chinese hackers on American critical infrastructure. FBI Director Chris Wray recently issued a warning about the targeting of water treatment plants, electrical grids, oil and natural gas pipelines, and transportation systems. Graham stressed the urgent need for attention and action to protect American citizens from potential real-world harm caused by these cyber threats.

Graham further cautioned about the potential consequences of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, stating that the radical ideology of the Iranian regime and their disregard for mutually assured destruction make it unlikely that deterrence would be effective. He underscored the danger this poses to regional stability and the threat Iran poses to Israel, as well as the potential for further conflicts with Iran and China.

In conclusion, Senator Lindsey Graham urged President Biden to take immediate and decisive action against Iran, targeting their oil infrastructure to instill fear and halt their attacks on American soldiers. He also emphasized the importance of addressing the growing cyber threats from China. With tensions escalating in the Middle East and potential nuclear developments in Iran, Graham warned of the need for proactive measures to safeguard American interests and security.
