Jobseeker gobsmacked after recruiter calls her a 'piece of c**p' in text message

A jobseeker was left gobsmacked after a recruiter called her a 'piece of c**p' in a text message - then later said it was sent by mistake.

TikTok user Jasmine had been talking to the recruiter about an opportunity and they sent her a text to see if she was still interested.

But at the end of the message, the recruiter added the offensive description, before later texting again and blaming it on a typo.

Jasmine shared the amusing mishap on TikTok where her video had over a million views, before adding that she decided to decline the position.

Jasmine, @madumjas, shared a screenshot of the text message on her TikTok video, which reads: "Hey Jasmine, I’m just following up on our paperwork appointment from Monday, are you still interested in the position you piece of c**p."

Jasmine said she later refused the position because of the pay, but added: "I applied for a job and this is how they respond back."

Soon Jasmine was inundated with comments, and many people rushed to the recruiter's defence.

One said: "I bet they were using voice to text."

And another wrote: "I guarantee you she was using voice to text while driving or working or whatever and something went wrong. There’s no way she was referring to you."

Then a third asked: "What did you respond?"

"This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while," added a fourth.

And another user said: "I would have responded with, 'wow, thanks for reminding me'."

Soon Jasmine, who is based in New York, responded to a commenter who asked if she took the position, writing: "F**k no, $14 biweekly?"
