Jobs you can get at Nottingham's Victoria Centre

Some big-name high street retailers are currently advertising for new staff at Nottingham’s Victoria Centre. Next and WHSmith are among those now recruiting.

Next is currently looking to recruit a new part-time team member for its Victoria Centre store. The position offers 10.75 hours per week, from 1pm to 7pm on Tuesdays and from 1.30pm to 7pm on Fridays.

The job will require the successful applicant to provide “fast and friendly service at all times, helping our customers to find the perfect products”. Next said the role would be well suited to someone who is “friendly, calm and efficient”, and who is also a “great communicator”.

Employee benefits include exclusive discounts on Next products and early access to sale stock, plus deals and offers from more than 3,500 other retailers. Applications for the position must be submitted by March 7.

WHSmith, meanwhile, is hoping to hire a new sales assistant for its store in the Victoria Centre. The part-time, 20-hour-a-week role offers a flexible shift pattern across both weekdays and weekends.

Extensive previous retail experience is not a requirement for the job, WHSmith said. The successful candidate will “need to be a great listener, good to talk to and naturally helpful”, providing customers with assistance and helping to ensure that their needs are met.

Restaurant chain Ed’s Easy Diner is also looking for a new supervisor for its Victoria Centre outlet, with pay at £10.50 an hour. Job requirements include the ability to remain “organised and calm under pressure”, having the “ability to think differently” and at least one year’s previous experience in a similar role as supervisor, shift manager or team leader.

Perks of the job include 28 days’ holiday, discounted food on shift, training and development opportunities, and exclusive discounts from thousands of online and high street retailers. Applications for the role must be submitted by March 9.
