Joao Felix has already told Chelsea to sign Neymar as Todd Boehly considers 'deadly' transfer

Todd Boehly has been handed fresh motivation to sign Neymar following the arrival of Joao Felix. The Paris Saint-Germain star has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea on a number of occasions throughout his career but a switch has never materialised.

Upon the turnover of club ownership, the American billionaire was expected to 'push for A-list signings' in order to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge. And, it was speculated that Neymar on the Blues' shortlist amid an increasingly uncertain future at Les Parc des Princes.

According to French outlet RMC Sport in May, the Brazil international was considering his future with the Parisians, but any deal for would have required significant financial backing. Ultimately, a dead collapsed and Neymar remained at PSG, where he sees his contract at the club expire in 2025.

But, with Felix an admirer of the Brazilian, Chelsea could be inclined to reignite interest in a bid to hold onto the forward beyond his six-month loan from Atletico Madrid. Speaking to TNT Sports last year, the 23-year-old said that he would like to play alongside Neymar one day.

"If I would like to play alongside Neymar? Of course I would, without any doubt," Felix said. "I think we would make a deadly duo.

"But you never know, maybe we don't work that well together on the pitch, but I think we would make a great partnership together. I make a good team with everyone.

"I can play alongside Griezmann. [Diego] Simeone already said we are compatible together and I believe it's just a matter of time we both start in the same game together."

On Wednesday, January 11, the Blues announced the signing of Felix on a six-month loan from the Spanish giants as Graham Potter looks to bolster his frontline. Chelsea are expected to pay the Spanish giants around £9million for the six-month loan signing of Felix, who has been watched on numerous occasions this season by the club's scouts.

However, Atletico did not want to include an option to buy in the contract. With several players currently out injured, the Portuguese star is set to be thrown in the deep end, though it remains to be seen whether he can feature against Fulham on Thursday night, January 12.

As per the Premier League regulations handbook, if Felix was to feature at Craven Cottage, he needed to be officially registered as a Chelsea player by 12pm on Wednesday afternoon. The club statement from Chelsea announcing his arrival was put out at exactly 12pm which would indicate all the forms and applications had been signed in the morning.
