Joao Felix addresses Manchester United transfer links after reports of huge £113m summer bid

Joao Felix insists he heard nothing of transfer interest from Manchester United during the closing stages of the summer window.

The Atletico Madrid forward was among a number of high-profile players linked with late switches to Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag and Co scrambled to get major deals secured before the deadline.

Indeed, it was even widely reported at one stage that United had seen a €130million (£113m) bid for Felix rejected by the LaLiga outfit, who responded with a spot of trolling on social media.

Felix eventually stayed put in Madrid, where he has yet to trouble the scoresheet in five matches across all competitions so far this term.

Meanwhile, United ended up signing Brazilian duo Casemiro and Antony from Real Madrid and Ajax respectively in big-money transfers that could be worth a combined total of £156m.

For his part, Felix insists that interest from United never reached him and would have been dismissed by Atletico chief Enrique Cerezo.

The Portuguese, an international colleague of Cristiano Ronaldo, told Spanish newspaper Marca: “I didn’t hear anything… so that was something for the president to deal with.”
