Birtwell is known for her unique take on ditsy florals, feminine designs and clashing prints. She has been the muse of artist David Hockney and is the partner of fashion designer Ossie Clark.

Birtwell adds that she was ‘delighted’ to be approached by Joanie to be part of the collaboration. “We were able to sit down and discuss what sort of designs in which colours they thought would work best, and we discussed which clothes best suited which designs,” she explained. “It has been a very harmonious relationship.”
The limited edition collection comprises 14 ‘70s-inspired dresses and tops featuring prints from Birtwell’s archives, all printed on luxurious, environmentally conscious chiffon and satin-feel fabric.
