Joan Collins has been treated for smoke inhalation after a "terrifying" fire at her flat in London
The 85-year-old actress took to Twitter to thank the emergency services, after firefighters extinguished the blaze and paramedics attended to her at the scene.
“Thank you from the bottom of my [heart] from to the marvellous [London Fire Brigade] who attended to the terrifying fire yesterday in our flat,” she said on Twitter.
“And thanks also to the [NHS London]...ambulance crew who took care of our smoke inhalation and comforted me.
“And the wonderful [Metropolitan Police] who who kept the street closed and everyone safe.”
On Instagram the former Dynasty star shared a clip of the blackened interior of the flat, after the fire had been extinguished.
“The remains of the day,” she wrote in the caption accompanying the post.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was contacted at 4.28pm on Saturday.
Two fire engines and 10 firefighters attended the scene.
“Part of a flat on the first floor of the seven-storey building was damaged by the fire,” the London Fire Brigade said in a statement.
“Two people left the property before the brigade arrived.”
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
