Jimmy Garoppolo, Dak Prescott battling shoulder ailments

A pair of NFC quarterbacks are having shoulder woes. Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Francisco 49ers are the troubled ones.

Garoppolo will be out until the summer after he undergoes shoulder surgery in the near future, reported ESPN.

His thumb troubles will not necessitate an operation.

Per ESPN.com:

The shoulder injury is not expected to impact Garoppolo’s trade status and he still is likely to be traded this month, according to sources. There is “significant interest” in Garoppolo from multiple teams, sources said.

Preliminary estimates are that Garoppolo is expected to resume throwing sometime prior to the July 4 holiday. If and when a trade is consummated, Garoppolo would be available to begin working with his new coaching and medical staffs.

As for Prescott, QB of the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys, he has undergone a procedure already.

Coach Mike McCarthy labeled the left-shoulder ailment an “irritant” and a “cleanup.”

Prescott will be available for off-season programs.
