Former President Jimmy Carter was admitted into the hospital over the weekend for a urinary tract infection, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The big picture: Carter, the oldest living president, has been in and out of the hospital several times in recent months. He underwent brain surgery in November and suffered a pelvic fracture in October.
- “He is feeling better and looks forward to returning home soon," a spokesperson said. "We will issue a statement when he is released for further rest and recovery at home.”
