Comedian Jimmy Carr caused quite a stir with his latest Netflix special.
But it has now been confirmed that he will not will not use any material from the show at gigs from now on.
In His Dark Materials, the 49-year-old made an 'abhorrent' remark about the Holocaust which many were outraged about.
In the footage from the new show, Jimmy said that people "never mention the thousands of Gypsies that were killed by the Nazis" because "no one ever wants to talk about the positives".
The insensitive Holocaust 'joke' aimed at the Travelling community has upset many and the comedian's management has now confirmed that the joke won't be included in any shows from now on, as reports the Mirror.
The comedian is set to take stage at Cambridge Corn Exchange on Wednesday night and on a number of dates agreed before the row.
City council leader Anna Smith said she shared the outrage, adding: "Genocide is not a subject for mockery".
She said: "We are committed to working with and supporting marginalised communities."
During the comedian's gig, the venue will be illuminated as a mark of solidarity with the gypsy, Roma and traveller communities and to remember Holocaust victims.
Leaflets about historical and other racism will be distributed too, according to Daily Star.
Carr has faced immense criticism and backlash from from stars such as My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding's Paddy Doherty and the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's chief executive Olivia Marks-Woldman.
He has also been slammed by anti-fascist charities and The Auschwitz Memorial among others, and a petition has now been launched calling on Netflix to remove the ‘vile’ content.
The petition, by organisation The Traveller Movement, described Carr’s words as "nothing short of a celebration of genocide".
It calls on Carr to apologise, and for Netflix to "remove this segment from the special".
Former Celebrity Big Brother star Paddy has publicly slammed the comedian for his insensitive joke.
Paddy dubbed the routine as "disgusting" and "a different level" in a furious rant on social media.
"How this fella has turned this into a joke is disgusting, it's a different level," Paddy raged.
"Travellers are the most hated people on the planet and what have we ever done to anyone, I don't know.
"I am truly, truly disgusted."
