Jimmy Butler seemed downright offended that the Celtics thought Grant Williams could guard him

For most of us on Friday night, we couldn’t believe that we’d watched what just happened between Jimmy Butler and Grant Williams.

Obviously, Williams “poked the bear,” so to speak, in Game 2 against the Heat by talking trash with Jimmy Butler to the point where the dudes were literally face-to-face with one another.

At this moment, the Celtics were up 96-89 and it seemed like they had a smooth path to winning the game and tying the series up. Miami goes on a 29-6 run to eventually win the game.

Williams tried Jimmy Butler and blew the game for his team. That’s just something that doesn’t seem like the smartest thing to do this postseason. Ask Jrue Holiday. It just…doesn’t really work out.

The Heat win and none of us can quite believe what we just watched. Included in that is Jimmy Butler, who was actually not shocked at all that Miami won.

He was just shocked that Boston thought Grant Williams could guard him.

Butler walked back in the tunnel after the game just repeating “there’s no way they thought that was the answer,” and just saying it over and over and over again. This dude, man.

He was saying it immediately after the game, too.

And even in the press conference.

I guess Grant’s not the answer, man. Boston, you’ve got some work to do. Sheesh. Fans absolutely loved this from Jimmy.
