Jimmy Butler is a prophet.
The Heat star staved off a Bulls comeback in the fourth quarter Saturday night, pouring in a game-high 28 points—and a buzzer-beater—to help lead his team to a 118—116 victory at the Kaseya Center.
Not only was Butler's game-winner a huge shot, but it was also the culmination of a prediction that the Heat forward had made just a month earlier. After missing a potential game-winner in a November loss to the Knicks, Butler confidently told reporters that he "was making the next one," indicating he would come through if faced with the same situation in the future.
Here’s a video of Butler’s prediction, one that came true on Saturday night, courtesy of ClutchPoints.

While Butler was almost certainly not thinking of his missed opportunity a month ago when he lined up this buzzer-beater against the Bulls, it's hard not to admire the confidence from the Heat forward.
Butler and the Heat are off to a good start in 2023 as they currently sit at 15—11, right in the thick of the early playoff picture in the Eastern Conference.
