Jimmy Butler Has Hilarious Response to Not Winning Big on Lottery Scratch-Offs

Heat forward Jimmy Butler is one of the highest-paid players in the NBA, but that does not prevent him from chasing the American dream of hitting big on lottery tickets.

Despite being extremely wealthy, Butler was seen in a store asking for as many $1, $5, and $10 tickets as he could get for just $100, as opposed to the more expensive options.

“Just don’t give me no $30 tickets… make it out to $100, I am trusting you now,” Butler said to the store cashier on a video clip.

After returning home, last season’s Eastern Conference Finals MVP shared a video to his Instagram story scratching off the tickets.

“Highway robbery, ya’ll selling us a dream. The American dream, trying to get rich quick,” says Butler.

After appearing to only win $10 on a ticket, the six-time All-Star hilariously joked he will have to continue the grind of being a professional basketball player in the NBA.

“I can’t never get rich. I guess I am going to have to work my day job,” Butler added.

While most Americans yearn to hit the lottery, it’s funny seeing an immensely wealthy talent, scheduled to earn $45,183,960 this season with Miami, bemoaning having to keep his “day job.”
