Jim Schwartz had quite a few stories about his previous stint with the Cleveland Browns in the early 90s as he now returns as the new defensive coordinator. Perhaps his best, however, was about the time he helped Alabama legacy head coach Nick Saban clean out his office in 1994. Schwartz recalls loading a ton of binders into a box, but one was left behind that he took.
Nearly 30 years later now, Schwartz says he still uses that binder as a reference for how detail-oriented and how serious Saban took gameplanning on a week-to-week basis. Hopefully, that meticulous gameplanning will help the Browns get back into the playoffs after two losing seasons in a row.
