Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is a family man—that’s no secret.
So it should have come as no surprise when his parents were on stage celebrating with the Michigan football program as Harbaugh and the Wolverines accepted the national championship trophy.
After fielding some questions from ESPN’s Rece Davis, Harbaugh passed the mic to his dad, Jack, who led the Wolverines faithful in an epic cheer that’s worked its way from a bit within the Harbaugh family into a calling card of the Michigan program.
“I have a question—a question if I might!” the 84-year-old Harbaugh yelled into the microphone. “Who has it better than us?”
The stadium filled with Michigan fans yelled, “Nobody!”

The cheers weren’t just heard inside of NRG Stadium in Houston. The response to Harbaugh’s question from Michigan fans reverberated across the country.

Jack Harbaugh, of course, was a longtime football coach in his own right, which included a stint as a defensive backs coach at Michigan from 1973-79.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Jack Harbaugh celebrating with the Wolverines, and depending on his son’s future at Michigan, it may not be the last.
