After ending Monday night in championship glory, Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh did his best to make sure he controlled how he would bask in his team’s historic win.
A 34–13 win over the No. 2 Washington Huskies gave top-seeded Michigan its first national championship in 26 years, setting Harbaugh up for a traditional Gatorade bath in the closing seconds to celebrate the monumental College Football Playoff victory.
The initial set-up showed Harbaugh stepping into position after defensive back German Green looked to hug him. Instead of getting drenched, however, Harbaugh found a way to deftly dodge the incoming shower, leaving the DB to take the full brunt of the icy bath.

On a night full of impact plays, Harbaugh’s nimble moves may give the polarizing coach and vaunted UM alum one of the CFP final’s lasting examples of what it means to have your head on a swivel.
The coach big’s night didn’t end completely dry, though, as the Wolverines eventually submerged Harbaugh in Gatorade for the much-deserved honor following a post-game interview.
