Jim Goodwin has urged St Johnstone to release more away tickets and cash in on Dundee United ’s travelling Tangerine army.
United sold out their entire 2700 away section in less than an hour but a request for additional seats for tomorrow’s bottom-six Premiership clash at McDiarmid Park has been knocked back. Saints are one place above Goodwin’s Terrors, who know a fourth win on the spin would take them up to the dizzy heights of ninth spot.
Goodwin, who could see a number of United fans without tickets, said: “Is it disappointing? Yes, but St Johnstone are well within their rights to do that. “Obviously from our point of view we want to get as many United fans there as possible. The fact we sold nearly 3000 tickets in less than an hour is incredible. St Johnstone are the home team and they can decide what way they want to do it. We would like to try to get more of our fans to the game.
“From the financial aspect, from their point of view, it might be a good money-spinner for St Johnstone if they were to make them available in the next 48 hours. But we’re delighted to be going there with the fans we have already and I’m expecting them to make an incredible atmosphere.”
