Jim Cramer openly insults Elon Musk about the Cybertruck

Investor Jim Cramer and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are both big personalities in real life and online, each with their own devoted fanbases hanging onto every word they say.

Naturally, both also have their critics, with those who think Cramer is always wrong falling into the "inverse Cramer" crowd (defined as folks who listen to Cramer, then invest in the exact opposite of what he says) and those who dislike Elon Musk and are boycotting X (formerly Twitter) after his takeover.

But in a recent appearance on CNBC, Cramer focused his criticism on Musk directly, bringing up Tesla TSLA and saying the Cybertruck does not have the payload of a Maverick and the durability is not there.

"I wonder whether this man can sell even 50,000 of the 200,000 Cybertrucks, and this may be Ford's year after all of the sturm & drang," he finished.

Naturally, Musk saw the tweet and responded in what some would call a good-natured way, although he certainly found a way to insert his own barb into the mix.

"This is a good omen! Inverse Cramer never fails," he replied, followed by the emoji that symbolizes laughing until you cry.

Jokes aside, Musk's ongoing promises about the Cybertruck have made both early adopters and investors antsy. Despite constant hype from Musk since its 2019 reveal, the ultra-modern vehicle has yet to materialize.

When asked about the Cybertruck's release, Musk said, "when we are ready to do so, we will...while I think it is our best product ever, it is an extremely difficult product to build. We are in uncharted territory, because it is not like anything else."

Crowd-sourced data trackers claim that two million people have preordered the Cybertruck, although Tesla has not officially confirmed that number. The waiting list currently stands at the five-year mark.
