A childhood photo of Jim Carrey as a gap-toothed child has circulated online in celebration of the fact the star has reached a landmark birthday.
On Monday, the Canadian comedy legend turned the grand age of 60 – and he was celebrating with fans via social media.
Followers shared a snap of the Ace Ventura legend from his school days as they marked all the years he had been alive and entertaining fans.
While Jim himself took to Twitter to record a special video message to make the fact he has reached six decades worth of life.
Uploading the short video to the micro-blogging site, Jim captioned the post: “It’s ma birthday! Whoohoo! I’m old but I’m gold! I Love you all!!!”
In the video itself, Jim pretended he had no teeth as he declared: “I’m 60 and sexy! And tonight I'm having cream corn and strained peaches."
His comment was a throwback to an interview with David Letterman on his version of CBS’s The Late Show where Jim was a guest decades ago.
At the time, Jim had the host and the live studio audience in stitches as he looked forwards to his landmark 60th birthday.
He said at the time that he was effectively “the Madonna of comedy”.
He joked: “[I’m] always reinventing myself so that someday I can look out at that crowd and go 'I'm 60 and sexy'."
Fans were delighted to see the star goofing around on Twitter as he marked his birthday – and were quick to flood his comments section with positive feedback.
One fan remarked: "Happy Birthday Jim! May you have many fulfilling, creative and peaceful years ahead of you."
