Jim Beglin helps make Kenyan comedian's dreams come true with Peter Drury meeting at World Cup

Jim Beglin helped make a Kenyan comedian's dreams come true at the 2022 World Cup.

Kenyan comedian Meshack Kiptoo, better known as Arap Uria, has built up a big following for his lip-syncing impressions, particularly of commentator Peter Drury.

But the social media sensation Aria had never got the chance to meet his role model.

That was until Aria travelled to the World Cup in Qatar and reached out to Drury's fellow commentator, Beglin, for help.

Aria tagged Beglin in a post in which he is holding a sign asking to meet Drury.

"Hello Peter Drury, it's Arap Uria. I am in Qatar and I would like to meet you."

Aria's post attracted thousands of likes and retweets on social media, with Beglin telling Aria that Drury would contact him the following day.

And the apprentice met the master the following day, with Beglin sharing pictures of Aria and Drury together.

Aria himself wrote: "Finally with Peter Drury . Many thanks @jimbeglin."

The Kenyan lip-syncs many of Drury's famous commentary and wears mugs on his ears to parody Drury's headphones.

Former Ireland and Liverpool player Beglin has himself become of the most respected commentators in the world.
