I’m A Celeb winner Jill Scott said she was “acting so weird” while trying to hide the engagement ring from her now-fiancée Shelly Unitt that her partner became convinced she was breaking up with her.

The 35-year-old proposed in March 2020 during a romantic weekend away at Huddersfield’s Titanic Spa.

Recalling the build-up to the milestone, Scott admitted that she was so “scared of losing” the important piece of jewellery that she carried it everywhere with her in a rucksack.

Scott told Hello!: “I was so scared of losing it, Shelly became convinced I was going to break up with her, because I was acting so weird.”

Her other half added: “Everywhere she went in the house, the rucksack went with her and, if we were going out, she’d spend ages trying to work out where to put it. I honestly had no idea. I just thought she was leaving me!”

Speaking of wedding plans, the former Lioness said: “We’ve said that, in the new year, we need to make a life plan of everything. It’s been so busy; we still haven’t had our engagement party yet.”

The Queen of the Jungle also revealed that she will be inviting her I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmates and their families to the wedding.

Scott previously spoke about their engagement and revealed that they were looking to lock in a date for their nuptials following her stint in the jungle.

The sports star told MailOnline: “We got engaged two years ago and Covid hit us, so I think we do need to get some planning in place. It will be nice.

“We need to sit down and just catch up on the last five weeks and what’s happened but, obviously, getting engaged, the next plan is to get wed.

“I have always appreciated our relationship 100 per cent – being able to go off and do football and be away two weeks out of every month, it’s so hard for the person that you’re with and the sacrifices they have to do, and knowing I had Shelly’s support going into this from day one. If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to do it, so we’re a good team.”
