Jill Scott feels like she's 'representing the women's football world' on I'm A Celeb

Jill Scott says she feels like she is "representing the women's football world" in the jungle and wants to make her teammates proud.

The 35-year-old is sure to be many people's vote to be Queen of the Jungle on I'm A Celebrity after winning the Euros in the Summer with the Lionesses.

Shortly after lifting the trophy she was offered a place on the ITV series in Australia and asked if she feels like it is important to represent whilst on the show, she said: "Yeah 100% That's probably a little bit of the pressure to be honest.

"I hope that we made everybody proud in the summer. However I do in the jungle won't affect that. But yeah, a small part of me does feel like I'm representing the women's football world. And hopefully I can do them proud. It's definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Jill retired after the Euros following a brilliant career where she played in 10 major tournaments, including two Olympics with Great Britain, and helped England win Euro 2022.

She now plans to go into coaching and says she wants to keep inspiring the next wave of footballers in the UK.

She said: "I have had some lovely moments of people coming up to you in the street and literally just saying 'thank you' shaking your hand and walking off. And loads of people saying that they didn't follow football before and after the Euros they got on board with it and just like so many really nice moments.

"Somebody approached me when I was in London, and said they had a really difficult time in the Summer and the football pulled them through. So for me so far it has been really nice experiences.

"I've always said you want to inspire before you expire. So if I can give my time to a young girl or a young boy, you take a picture or sign an autograph and just know that you've made their day. I think it probably goes back to that element of my purpose has always been to help people, so if I can help people in a small moment like that, then it's really special for me.

Before heading into camp, Jill admitted she wasn't worried about the rice and beans diet but was concerned about a lack of caffeine.

She said: "I've got one thing I'm definitely going to miss is tea and coffee. I think like when I wake up in the morning and I feel like that's the one thing that gets us out of bed. A nice brew downstairs.

"I've got a coffee shop in Manchester called Boxx 2 Boxx so I guess I'm definitely gonna miss a flat white.

"There's a lot of things going on in the world so if I can complain about missing the coffee then I think you're doing okay, so yeah, I'm not going to whinge about little things like that, but if you ask us what I would miss it would be my coffee."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! returns Sunday November 6 at 9PM on ITV1.
