Jill Halfpenny has had her Tynemouth home 'transformed' as she became the unlikely star of popular BBC show Your Home Made Perfect this week.
On the same day that the return of Byker Grove, the shot that originally shot her to TV fame, was announced by her former co-stars Ant and Dec, Geordie actress Jill appeared on the home improvement programme, alongside 13-year-old son Harvey, as millions of viewers tuned in.
Jill explained to BBC host Angela Scanlon, that she had decided to move back to home turf, but there were two major issues with the two floor property she made her new home - the kitchen was on a different level to the dining room, and the bathroom had no windows., with Jill saying: 2To me, the configuration is all out of whack. It doesn't flow properly."

Viewers saw the plush home worked on by architects Will Foster and Lynsey Elliot, with Jill's house being the first ever flat project taken on by the programme. The actress and former Strictly winner, who had been in Channel 5 dramas The Drowning and The Holiday in recent years, was delighted with the results of the makeover, which saw her get a new kitchen and living room on one floor, a new bedroom for Harvey on the other and a roof terrace.
Unlike members of the public who appear on the show and are given their renovations free of charge, it has been revealed that Jill footed the bill for the changes made to her home, as viewers were in shock that she was even on the show. Taking to Twitter, one viewer remarked: "Does Jill Halfpenny not qualify for a celebrity episode."
And envious of the 'after' result of the work to Jill's flat, another tweeted: "I’m furious with envy at Jill Halfpenny’s perfect top floor flat with roof terrace."
