Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, is set to deliver a speech at the Democratic National Convention to highlight her husband's 50 years of public service as his presidency nears its end. She will emphasize President Joe Biden's character and express her support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

In her prepared remarks, Jill Biden will call for unity among Americans, urging them to have faith in each other, hope for a brighter future, and love for their country. President Biden endorsed Harris after dropping out of the presidential race in July, paving the way for her nomination as the Democratic Party's candidate.

Throughout Biden's campaign, Jill Biden stood by her husband's side, declaring her unwavering support for his reelection bid. Despite calls for him to withdraw following a challenging debate against Donald Trump, both Joe and Jill Biden remained committed to the race.

Following Biden's decision to end his campaign, the Democratic convention was reorganized to honor his extensive public service record, which includes six terms as a U.S. senator, eight years as vice president, and one term as president.

As the administration approaches its final months, Jill Biden plans to continue her work on various initiatives, including supporting military families, advancing cancer research through the Biden Cancer Moonshot, promoting women's health research, and advocating for education opportunities.

Additionally, she will campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. Jill Biden, who holds a paying job as an English and writing professor at Northern Virginia Community College, has been actively engaged in her teaching responsibilities while fulfilling her duties as first lady.

During her time in the White House, Jill Biden has traveled extensively across the United States and internationally, including a recent delegation to the Olympic Games in France. She has also been a vocal advocate for COVID-19 vaccination efforts and showed support for Ukraine following Russia's military invasion in 2022.
