Ranchi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a series of raids across 16 locations in three states as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal mining activities in Jharkhand, according to the CBI sources.
The raids were conducted as part of a case registered in November 2023, following a court order.

The operation spanned multiple locations, with 14 sites in Jharkhand, including 11 in Sahibganj and 3 in Ranchi. Along with one location each in Kolkata and Patna.
During the raids, CBI officials seized cash amounting to Rs. 50 lakhs, one kilogram of gold, and a quantity of silver jewellery.

FIR Report
According to the First Information Report (FIR), eight people have been named for alleged illegal mining of stone in Nimbu Pahar in Sahebganj.
