Jewel raiders rob delivery driver in Liverpool city centre heist
A delivery driver was attacked and robbed after picking up a package of jewellery from Cavern Walks in Liverpool city centre. The worker picked up the item from a store in the shopping centre, on Harrington Street, at around 4.50pm, on Monday, March 28. As he walked near Doran's Lane he was attacked and robbed for the package.
The suspect, who was unknown to the victim, then ran into a van which was waiting nearby, close to the Hard Day's Night Hotel. The van, which was driven by another man, then drove off.

Liverpool city centre venue shuts doors over '£1.2m rent arrears'
Liverpool's Grand Central Hall has been closed by its landlords after the building operator built up rent arrears of more than £1,200,000.
The events and leisure venue on Renshaw Street won't be able to host any of its upcoming concerts, according to the landlords of the building. Nextdom Property Limited, who own the building, say the locks have now been changed and any unauthorised entry is an offence.
Today Nextdom served official notice of forfeiture of the lease to venue operator Local Bar Four Limited, which is effective immediately. A spokesperson for the landlord said: "We re-entered premises peacefully with a certificated enforcement agency in accordance with the Regulations as per the Tribunal Courts and Enforcement Act 2007.
'Greedy' mum who stole £250k from employers slammed
Echo readers were disgusted by the 'greedy' mum who stole £250,000 from her employers.
Angela Boote from Lower Lane, had worked for Griffiths and Armour insurance brokers since 1994 and while managing some of the company's banking functions took cash for herself. Spending money on lavish holidays, jewellery and clothes. She was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday and jailed for forty months. Her clients included charities to NHS trusts.

In 2017 she began redirecting the funds into four accounts linked to her including a joint account she shared with her husband. Her family are not believed to be connected to the case. ECHO readers have reacted with anger to Boote's crime on social media and in the comments section of the ECHO website.
