Do you believe?!
Could 2024 finally be the year the New York Jets not only break the NFL’s longest active playoff drought but also win their first Super Bowl title since 1968?
In other words, is this the offseason the Jets stop being… well, the Jets?
If they land Aaron Rodgers, bettors like their chances. It only took reports of New York’s interest in the four-time MVP for sportsbooks to improve the team’s title odds from +2500 to +1800. And after a contingent of Jets officials reportedly flew to California on Tuesday to meet with Rodgers, bettors went all in.
The Jets received more than three times the amount of Super Bowl bets every other team combined for Tuesday at Caesars. They received the most bets at DraftKings too. By Tuesday night, their odds were down to 16-1 at BetMGM.

Now is the time I should remind people Rodgers is still technically on the Green Bay Packers. We’ve been through this whole song and dance before.
Of course, where there’s smoke, there’s probably fire. So at this point, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rodgers ended up in a different shade of green next season. But he’s also coming off the worst year of his career and, at 39, shouldn’t be expected to bounce back in a significant way. This could end up similar to Brett Favre’s move East.
The Jets have a solid young core and were potentially a quarterback away from being a real threat last season. But it’s not like the Packers were terribly constructed. Rodgers couldn’t get them to the playoffs in a weaker division.
Now, people are banking on him to not just get back to the postseason in a division with the Bills, Dolphins and Patriots, but get through a conference that also includes Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, maybe Lamar Jackson, and other young studs at quarterback?
Good luck with that. I’ll pass.
