Aaron Rodgers’s speedy recovery from a torn Achilles is inspiring hope for a Jets squad on a three-game winning streak.
Jets punter Thomas Morstead joined The Pat McAfee Show on Monday and stated that Rodgers’s remarkable progress has his teammates envisioning a storybook ending.
“It is a hope thing,” Morstead told McAfee. “All of a sudden, he is doing something new and you are like, ‘wow,’ this sort of unrealistic prediction that he is coming back this season, there is a hope there and I just think guys love seeing it.”
Most believed that Rodgers’s injury would be season-ending, but the four-time MVP is determined to defy the odds. That drive has motivated his teammates to keep finding ways to win during his absence.

“It’s inspiring to see him out there. We have to keep hanging in there and keep finding ways to win,” added Morstead. “You can already see the story, how this thing could end, it’s too good of a story, you can already see the ending. It’s just exciting to see him out there every week. It just gives the guys a lot of hope of what could be.”
New York has beaten Denver, Philadelphia, and the Giants in its past three games. That has improved the Jets’ record to 4–3 which has resulted in playoff hopes being rekindled.
The Jets will return to action next Monday night for Week 8 when they play host to Justin Herbert and the Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium.
