Jermaine Johnson became the second member of the Jets’ draft class to sign his rookie deal on Monday, the team announced.
The defensive end, drafted 26th overall, inked a four-year, $13.1 million deal. The pact includes a $6.7 million signing bonus and comes with a fifth-year option.

The Jets traded up for Johnson in the draft because they believe he can be a dominant, disruptive force in the trenches alongside Carl Lawson. Johnson broke out at Florida State last season, tallying 11.5 sacks. That was his lone campaign with the Seminoles after two years at Georgia. Johnson also recorded 17.5 TFLs and 70 tackles last year.
In addition to Johnson, the Jets have also signed fourth overall pick Ahmad Gardner.
