The No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft has put pen to paper on his first pro contract.
New York Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner became the latest pick from this year’s draft to sign his rookie deal, as the team made the official announcement Saturday afternoon.
Gardner brings a rare blend of size and athleticism to the corner position, and went his entire college career without giving up a single touchdown.
He now joins a Jets team in the process of a deep rebuild under general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh, but back-to-back strong drafts should accelerate their plans to compete in the AFC East.
