Jets request to interview Rams executive Ray Farmer for GM job

Now that the regular season has ended, teams with head coach and general manager vacancies will begin putting in requests to interview candidates currently working for other franchises. It didn’t take long for another team to target one of the Los Angeles Rams’ front office executives.

On Monday, the New York Jets put in a request to interview Rams executive Ray Farmer for their general manager position. Farmer joined the Rams in 2020 as a scouting consultant before being promoted to senior personnel executive in 2021, which is the role he currently holds.

As Adam Schefter notes, Farmer works closely with general manager Les Snead during the draft process. Considering how well the Rams have drafted in recent years, it’s no surprise the Jets want to talk to Farmer about their GM opening.

Farmer previously had one stint as a general manager with the Browns from 2014 to 2015 after being the assistant GM for one year in 2013. He was suspended four games in 2015 for sending texts to coaches about play calling during games, and then was fired after the season.
