It’s no secret that Quinnen Williams is seeking a lucrative contract extension from the Jets.
While other defensive linemen, such as the Giants’ Dexter Lawrence, the Titans’ Jeffrey Simmons and the Commanders’ Daron Payne all signed new deals this offseason, Williams, who’s entering the final year of his current deal, still is waiting for his payday.
Williams has made it known he wants a new contract in many ways, including by skipping the Jets’ offseason workouts. On Monday, he continued to nudge the team by changing his twitter bio and removing a reference to the Jets. Instead, his Twitter header now reads: “Defensive Tackle for …………”
Additionally, Williams’s last retweet was of ESPN’s Adam Schefter announcing Lawrence’s new deal with the Giants.

With his last tweet is a RT of the contract the #Giants gave Dexter Lawrence - $90 million with $60 million guaranteed.

Williams is coming off his best season, totaling 55 tackles and 12 sacks in 16 games, earning his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections. New York picked up his fifth-year option last offseason, so Williams is set to earn over $9.5 million in 2023.
