Jets QB says he’d be interested in playing for Dolphins

While the Miami Dolphins have been very committed to Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback this offseason, they still may be looking for a backup.

Teddy Bridgewater is set to become a free agent, but heading into his second year, Skylar Thompson could be ready to take on that responsibility.

With that said, soon-to-be free agent, and former New York Jets quarterback, Mike White said he’d be interested in coming to South Florida to play for the Dolphins.

“Selfishly, from a personal standpoint, obviously growing up down there, I’d love to go home,” White told former Dolphin Joe Rose. “But from a football standpoint, it’s a very talented offense.”

White is originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida, which is less than 10 miles from Hard Rock Stadium. Coming back to their hometown is always something that’s intriguing to players. Still, with Tagovailoa’s health history, White may get more of an opportunity to play in Miami than in other places as a backup.

On top of that, throwing to Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill can help make any quarterback look good.
