The New York Jets have officially opened a 21-day practice window for the potential return of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It’s good news for the Jets and bad news for everyone else in the AFC East division, including the New England Patriots.
The four-time NFL MVP ruptured his Achilles in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills back in September. There was always hope that he would have a window to return late in the season, and this move by the Jets keeps that hope alive.
Jets coach Robert Saleh asked for tempered expectations in regards to what Rodgers is able to do right away. So far, he’s been cleared for football activities, but he still has work ahead of him to be ready to step back out on the field.
Coach Robert Saleh cautions that this is just a step in Rodgers' rehab because he was cleared for football activities. He adds: "Aaron is not going to do anything that puts himself in harm’s way." https://t.co/amyjDoFQ95

The Jets are currently sitting at 4-7 on the season with an outside shot of getting into the playoffs. They are slated to face the Patriots in the regular season finale, when Rodgers might be the quarterback under center.
A meeting with a Rodgers-led Jets team would put the Patriots’ run of 15 consecutive wins over the Jets in jeopardy.
