Newcastle Jets forward Lara Gooch has been named in the Young Matildas squad bound for the FIFA Under 20 Women's World Cup in Colombia starting at the end of August.
The Boolaroo 19-year-old helped Australia qualify for the global showpiece when she scored off the bench to seal a 1-0 win over Korea Republic in the bronze medal play-off at the AFC Under 20 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan in March.
It was the Young Matildas' equal-best result at the Asian tournament.
Gooch came through the Jets Academy and is expected to be re-signed by her home-town A-League Women's club as they chase another finals appearance in 2024-25.
The dynamic attacking player notched her first A-League goal last campaign and finished the season with a tally of four from 20 appearances.
Gooch was in a 21-player squad named by Young Matildas coach Leah Blayney on Friday for the August 31-September 22 tournament.
Australia open their campaign against the host nation on August 31.
They have also drawn Mexico and Cameroon in Group A.
The top-two nations in each group will progress to the knock-out phase.
The Young Matildas squad will be captained by Jessika Nash and features 19 players who participated in the 2023-24 A-League Women's season.
