Jets coach Robert Saleh’s deflated face said it all after Aaron Rodgers’ stunning first quarter injury

Aaron Rodgers played less than a full drive for the New York Jets before leaving the game with a shocking injury.

On Monday, during Rodgers’ highly-anticipated debut with his new team against the Buffalo Bills, disaster struck for the Jets in the first quarter. On Rodgers’ first drive as quarterback, he was downed for a sack by Leonard Floyd. The play seemed innocuous, but after getting back up from the hit, Rodgers sat down on the field, clearly injured.

Rodgers was helped off the field, going into the medical tent before being carted off the field. The Jets announced that Rodgers left with an ankle injury and has since been ruled out for the game. Here’s how the play went down.

Talk about an absolutely brutal way for the Jets’ 2023 campaign to begin. Rodgers’ debut was highly anticipated by Jets fans and to have Rodgers bow out like this — not even completing a pass to boot! — is so rough.

And Jets head coach Robert Saleh knew it too, as his reaction on the sidelines after Rodgers’ injury said it all.

Here’s how NFL fans reacted to Saleh’s dead-eyed stare after Rodgers’ injury.
