Jet2 urges passengers to book 'last chance' flights as airline issues cancellation update

Jet2 has urged customers to make the most of 'last chance' bargains on flights this summer.

The airline sent out an email to customers after expanding its operation and is offering more summer and winter flights - and people will have to act fast.

In the message to Jet2 customers, the airline said people have until midnight on Monday 20 June to save 10 per cent on all flights.

Jet2 said: "Planning on booking a trip soon? Well you might as well save 10%! Just book before midnight Monday 20 June 2022 and this dazzling discount will be all yours. The final countdown is on, so use it before you lose it…"

Bargain flights from Glasgow Airport include a £36 trip to Faro and £46 flights to Majorca. From Edinburgh Airport, passengers can get cheap £45 Ibiza flights and a £41 Fuerteventura trip.

It comes as Jet2 also issued a defiant message to customers stating that feedback remains "positive" and that none of its cancellations are down to staff shortages.

It comes as airlines and airports struggle with demand as millions of passengers travel abroad again after the Covid pandemic, resulting in queues and cancelled flights.

It is thought many passengers are making the most of vouchers given during lockdown.

In a statement, a Jet2 spokesperson told that feedback was positive from 'happy customers' thanks to the "tireless" work of its staff.

It also said its recruitment strategy was made very early on to ensure there were no staff shortages.

The spokesperson said: "We have not made any cancellations due to staff shortages and we are continuing to receive positive feedback from happy customers and independent travel agents thanks to our dedicated teams who are continuing to work tirelessly to provide the best customer service in the industry.

"We took action to recruit well ahead of the bounce back and as such we have a very visible uniformed presence (referred to as the Red Team) in our UK airports as well as in our main overseas airports and in resorts.

"This team are on hand, making an enormous difference in terms of assisting and guiding our customers through their journey with us.”
