Jet2, Ryanair, easyJet carry on luggage allowance and how much you have to pay

Holidays are back on the cards for many as the UK have scrapped all testing requirements for the journey home.

Countries such as Spain and France have also relaxed their entry requirements, just in time for the Easter holidays.

We are always on the search for cheap flights, at first glance the £30 return ticket to Barcelona can be appealing but as we know, if it's too good to be true - it usually is.

Airlines often show just the ticket price at the cheapest rate and luggage and seats will have to be added on after.

And they come at another cost.

Here are the carry on allowance for Jet2, Ryanair and easyJet.

Jet2

Included in your price, you may carry on board one piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including any wheels and handles.

That is around the size of a small suitcase or large holdall.

Anything that exceeds the weight allowance, Jet2 charges £12 per kg.

Ryanair

Budget airline is known for their cheap flights, but then they soon hit you with the cost of luggage, seats and priority boarding.

When you book a flight, you have a range of options to choose from.

You can choose from value fair, regular, plus, family plus or flexi plus.

The value fair allows you to take one small hang luggage, (40x20x25cm) around the size of a rucksack or small holdall.

A regular fair allows you to take that and a 10kg wheelie bag (55x40x20cm). This will be what most people will be looking at if they are going away for a week and according to Ryanair, prices can cost anywhere between £8 and £32.

Plus tickets allows one small cabin bag, 20kg Check-in bag and family plus includes one small cabin bag (each passenger/each way), One 20kg Check-in bag, 10kg Check-in Bag (each passenger/each way).

But one thing to look out for is how much the luggage is to add onto the value fair separately. If you click through after choosing value fair, you can add your luggage separately and sometimes it can be cheaper than the regular fair.

easyJet

EasyJet say that everyone can bring one small cabin bag per person on board for free.

It can be a maximum size of 45x 36x20 cm (including any handles or wheels), that's the size of a smaller suitcase or rucksack.

If you would like to bring a bigger suitcase on board, easyJet have introduced a new feature that you can pay for.

You can select an Up Front or Extra Legroom seat or book a large cabin bag for your flight that can fit a case with the dimensions 56x45x25 cm.

You can buy the seats from £12.99
