Jet2 'Mayhem' at Leeds Bradford and Manchester Airports as booking systems go down

Leeds Bradford and Manchester Airport Jet2 passengers have hit out at the "mayhem" caused when booking systems went offline prior to their flights.

The Border Force systems went offline yesterday in the early hours for temporary period, causing an influx of queueing as people waited on tenterhooks crammed together to catch their flights, according to Jet2. It's been clarified the systems glitch was a nation-wide issue.

At about 6am, Jet2 passenger David Paul Scott, flying from Leeds Bradford, took to Twitter to vent his frustration, he said: "Jet2 booking system offline. Leeds Bradford Airport [is] absolute mayhem."

Even though it was a Border Force issue, say the airline, Jet2 apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused. AJet2 spokesperson said: “We are aware of an issue which affected Border Force systems for a temporary period yesterday morning, which meant they were not operating as normal.

"Unfortunately, this meant that check-in took longer than usual for some customers, and we would like to apologise to those customers for any inconvenience. Our teams worked hard to look after customers, and we can confirm the problem is now resolved.”
