Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is celebrating five years of bumper growth to Turkey, announcing that their flying programme to the popular holiday hotspot has trebled since 2018. It said it had experienced such "tremendous growth over the last five years that Turkey is its fastest growing destination over the past five years, excluding brand-new destinations".
The companies have expanded their offering in response to demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to book or travel to the Turkish sunshine. The expansion means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have seen a 200% capacity increase to Turkey for summer 2023 - with almost two million seats on sale - compared to Summer 2018. when around 650,000 seats were on sale.
The companies operate to Turkey from ten of their UK bases for summer 2023 - Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle International - with 37 routes on sale. For summer 2024, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said they would grow their Turkey programme even further, when they start operating flights and holidays to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have expanded their programme to Turkey over the past five years by adding capacity to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman and launching a new Turkish destination. In summer 2019, the companies started operating flights and package holidays to Izmir, seeing them grow the number of destinations they operate to in Turkey to four. This growth makes Turkey the biggest growing destination for the companies in the past five years, as well as the largest tour operator and airline from the UK to Turkey.
Jet2 said Turkey "offers a great product at affordable prices", meaning "customers have been flocking to book flights and holidays to the destination". It said the year-round sunshine, wide choice of accommodation, natural beauty, history and culture also made Turkey a popular choice for couples and families alike looking to get away.
Jet2holidays has more than 450 two-star to five-star hotels on sale in Turkey this summer, providing a variety of board basis. It also still has thousands of free child places available to Turkey for this July and August.
