A Jet2 flight from Lanzarote to Bristol had to be diverted yesterday (September 28) due to a passenger needing medical attention. Jet2 has confirmed that the flight was diverted to Austurias in Spain, but did return to Bristol Airport shortly after.
A tweet from Airport Webcams at around 10:48pm last night read: "Incident: Jet2 #LS1802 Lanzarote to Bristol (Boeing 737-800 G-DRTK) squawked 7700 General Emergency over the Bay of Biscay, descended rapidly and has just diverted to Oviedo/Asturias. Reason not yet known."
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "Flight LS1802 from Lanzarote to Bristol diverted to Asturias yesterday due to a customer requiring medical attention.

"We can confirm that the aircraft departed Asturias for Bristol shortly afterwards and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
BristolLive has approached Bristol Airport for comment.
