A Jet2 flight from Tenerife to Manchester was forced to make a last-miute diversion after 'issuing an emergency alert'.
The flight path shows the plane change direction and divert to Newquay when travelling northwards towards Manchester Airport over the Celtic Sea last night (Sunday), reports MEN.
Airline bosses later confirmed that the reason for the sudden diversion was due to a passenger on board requiring medical assistance.

The LS756 flight departed the airport at Tenerife shortly before 2pm before issuing the emergency alert and diverting around three and a half hours into the journey and landing at Cornwall Airport Newquay at 5.45pm. The Cornish airport is more than 300 miles away from the passenger's North West destination.
Further details about the incident have not been confirmed, but the Manchester Evening News has approached Jet2 and asked how other passengers will be transported back to Manchester.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “Flight LS756 from Tenerife to Manchester has diverted to Cornwall Airport Newquay, due to a customer requiring medical attention.”
The news comes as Bristol Airport welcomed a new airline on board this weekend offering flights to a beautiful Mediterranean beach destination. Turkish company Corendon Airlines will be offering a twice-weekly service to the city of Antalya, where the airline is based.
