Additional flights from East Midlands Airport are being scheduled. The expansion represents nearly 4,000 extra seats going on sale to holidaymakers.
The alterations to the schedule have been requested by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and means that the company will be offering more flights and holidays to popular destinations across the Canary Islands and Turkey from the local Airport. The move has been prompted by the recent popularity of October half-term breaks.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of the airline and holiday firm, said: “We are seeing strong demand throughout Summer 23 from customers and independent travel agents in the region, with the October half-term period proving to be an extremely popular time for a holiday. In response to that, we have added additional capacity across popular destinations in the Canary Islands and Turkey."
He went on: "As families are increasingly looking for great value holidays, booking a half-term holiday for next year now allows them to get the price locked in. While the size and scale of our Summer 23 programme from East Midlands Airport means we are already offering unrivalled choice, we are expanding this even further and giving customers and independent travel agents in the region even more flexibility to book or enjoy a holiday."
The companies will be offering a larger programme to Canary Islands and Turkey for Summer 23 from East Midlands Airport with particular expansion of holiday choice during the 2023 October half-term period with additional flights added for October half-term holidays to Antalya, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
Mr Heapy added: “With customers flocking to get Summer 23 holiday booked in their diaries, we are anticipating a hugely successful summer season and are confident that these additional flights from East Midlands Airport will be massive hit.”
