Jet2 and Jet2holidays named Which? Travel Brand of the Year in prestigious awards

Travel and holiday operator Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have bagged a prestigious award.

The holiday firm has been named Travel Brand of the Year 2022 at this year’s Which? Travel Awards, in recognition of the way that the companies have treated customers, both during the pandemic as well as now that international travel has reopened.

This years’ Which? Awards recognises the brands who are championing consumers by consistently offering outstanding products, as well as helping households across the UK make their money go further.

As airports across the UK felt the pressure over Easter with a surge in customers, Jet2, along with TUI, offered Twilight check ins where passengers could drop their bags off in the evening to avoid long cues before security.

The winner is chosen after a rigorous process which includes research, testing and endorsements (such as Best Buy and Recommended Provider status) by Which? experts, as well feedback from thousands of Which? members and paying customers throughout the year.

With no other airline or tour operator nominated in this category, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays beat a number of well-known brands to be awarded with the prestigious title of Travel Brand of the Year for the second time in five years. No other airline or tour operator was nominated in the category.

With international travel returning to normal, resulting in strong demand for flights and holidays, the affordable airline and tour operator received praise for customer service, quality, and value for money.

Which? also commended Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for the way the companies have looked after customers and independent travel agents during the pandemic, processing refunds swiftly and smoothly.

In January, consumer champions Which? also announced that Jet2.com would continue to be recognised with the prestigious Which? Recommended Provider status for Airlines, making it the only airline with that title, after the company received its highest-ever customer score despite another year dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “The past two years have created challenges for many industries, with travel feeling the impact more than many.

"The way that different companies responded to the pandemic will be remembered for a long time, and I am very proud of the way that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have led the way when it comes to looking after customers and treating them with respect.

He added: “Ahead of international travel reopening we wanted to fly, rather than limp, out the traps once restrictions eased. With that in mind, we have been resolutely focused on delivering the same industry-leading levels of customer service that our customers expect.

"There is no better or fairer measure of how well we are doing in that regard than the consumer champion Which? and their members, so to be recognised as Which? Travel Brand of the Year shows that we are doing the right thing.”
