Jesy Nelson has sent fans into meltdown this evening as she's seemingly confirmed that she will be releasing new music very soon.
The singer, 31, had teased that she was working on new music last year, with the former Little Mix member having been in the recording studio in Los Angeles.
She was understood to be working on her debut album abroad, following the release of her first solo single, Boyz, which featured Nicki Minaj, 40, and was released in 2021.
Jesy has now shared an update with fans on Instagram, having taken to the platform this evening to seemingly tease that she will be releasing her follow-up single shortly.
A video - which showed someone walking along a wooden floor wearing orange platform heels - was uploaded to her account earlier. It featured instrumental audio, which may be part of an upcoming song that she's set to release.
Jesy - who had previously teased that she would be sharing something this evening - simply wrote alongside the footage on the platform earlier: "It's time".
She has yet to confirm what the post means, though it suggests that she will finally be releasing new music following her debut single Boyz, which came out in 2021.
Fans have shared their excitement over the post, with one person commenting: "Here we go". Another wrote: "Oh my god. I am so ready". A third said: "Cannot wait".
"I'm shaking," another commented. Whilst one follower wrote in the comments section: "We have been waiting for this for so long." Others instead wrote: "Finally".
"This sounds so good," commented another follower. Whilst one person wrote: "Omg I'm screaming". Another said: "She is back". Another commented: "So excited".
The new teaser comes eight months after it was announced that Jesy had parted ways with record label Polydor. She had released her debut single through that label.
A spokesperson for Jesy told us at the time: "[She] feels now is the right for her to move in a new direction. As a result, she has decided to part company with Polydor."
Whilst a spokesperson for Polydor had said: "Polydor have amicably parted ways with Jesy. We have enjoyed working with her and everyone at the label wishes her nothing but the best for the future."
A source told us at the time that Jesy and the record label were on good terms, but commented that the two parties had been "going in different directions" over her music.
They said: "Rather than go on together whilst having such differing musical ideas for the future, she now wants to be able to develop fully her own ideas as an individual artist".
It was understood that Jesy was in the studio working on solo material with songwriters and producers.
And it was reported just a few months ago that she'd filmed a music video for her next single in December. It's unclear whether her latest post was teasing such a potential video.
Jesy had previously been a member of Little Mix, who were the winners of the X Factor back in 2011. She announced her departure from the award-winning group in 2020.
