Singer Jesy Nelson’s camp have hit back at claims that record label bosses are unimpressed by her solo efforts - saying her “captivating” new album is still on course and set for release soon.
The former Little Mix star has been working for months in the studio preparing her debut album. And her spokesperson dismissed claims that record label bosses had failed to be impressed with Jesy’s demos.
A spokesperson said: “In recent months, Jesy has been in the studio recording in Los Angeles developing her body of work with a whole series of tracks. And fans can rest assured they can expect to hear new music from Jesy very soon."

A source added: “The new music is captivating…it’s going to raise the bar, and some.”
The 30-year-old singer sparked controversy last year when she unleashed her first ever solo single with the track Boyz – to the chorus of accusations she was guilty of appropriating black culture in her accompanying music video, reports The Mirror.
A music insider told The Sun on Sunday that after the release of Boyz last year, she let the label hear early versions of the songs she had come up with. They claimed they wanted her to go back “to go back to the drawing board”.
However an insider said that contrary to that version of events, things had been progressing “at normal speed and without any hiccups.”
The source added: “Everyone is very excited by the new music. It’s going to be very special indeed.”
Fans have been clamouring for new music from Jesy ever since she split from Little Mix in December 2020 and have been gagging for more since she released Boyz last October.
And just last month Jesy had been boasting about writing a tear-jerker of a tune. Taking to Instagram, she shared a snap of herself at home after spending time in a recording studio.
She wrote: "You know it's a powerful song when it makes you like this. Got me in the feels."
The singer had spent two months in Los Angeles penning and recording music for her album. Excited to return to the UK, Jesy shared photos of herself preparing to board her flight home min the middle of May.
She wrote via Instagram at the time: "My boys, my family, my absolute weirdos what a bloody two months it's been."
