Jesy Nelson has poked fun at her past comments about not wanting kids amid her pregnancy with twins.
The singer, 33, had insisted in a 2021 Glamour interview that she was “not a kid person” and had never had “that maternal feeling”.
However, earlier this month Nelson announced that she is expecting twins with her on-off boyfriend Zion Foster, 26.
The irony of her previous comments was not lost on the Little Mix star, who joked that they had “aged well” in her Instagram Story on Monday.
Nelson re-shared a snippet of the Glamour interview on her Story, in which she said: “I’m not a kid person, it’s just not in me.”
The clip then cut to the singer zooming in on her baby bump, before pulling a funny face at the camera.
She wrote alongside it: “Also me,” and added sarcastically: “That aged well.”
Elsewhere in the Glamour chat, Nelson had said: “I think as a woman, [motherhood is] either in you or it isn't. You either have that maternal feeling or you don't, and I've never had that feeling.”
She announced her pregnancy by sharing a photo of her baby bump while posing with Foster and joked she’s now "eating for three”.
Nelson and Foster were first linked in January 2022 before splitting up in November 2023 after she apparently struggled with their seven-year age gap.
The Boyz singer revealed her pregnancy “wasn’t planned” during an Instagram Q&A with fans last week.
When asked how she felt when she discovered the baby news, she said: “[I felt] very very shocked. It wasn't planned but I felt instantly happy as soon as I saw that I was.
“When I found out I was having twins Zion and me were shocked. Although a lot of our friends guessed it way before our scan because I was showing very early.”
Nelson added that she was struggling with nausea and opened up about her pregnancy cravings.
“I've been very sick where I'm having twins so constant vomiting 24/7. But other than that feeling very blessed,” she said.
When a fan said she was looking “slay,” Nelson joked that she “didn’t b****y feel it,” before adding: “But just so grateful and so blessed to be having twins.”
She also revealed she’s been craving Percy Pig sweets, as well as “bread, potatoes and dry stuff” to help curb her nausea.
Nelson later teased fans by admitting she has picked her babies’ names, but is “keeping it a secret for now”.
