Country music singer Jessie James Decker is eagerly preparing for the arrival of her fourth child, a baby boy. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Decker shared insights into the design of the nursery, which was inspired by her love for Colorado.
Decker has a special connection to Colorado, as all three of her previous children were born in the mountain state. To bring a touch of 'Colorado' to Tennessee, where she currently resides, Decker collaborated with Crate & Kids to create a Colorado-themed nursery.
'Our life really started in Colorado, and we won't be able to have this sweet baby in Colorado, but I wanted to bring a little Colorado to Tennessee so that he didn't feel left out,' Decker mentioned during the interview.
Taking the lead in designing the nursery, Decker worked closely with her husband, former football player Eric Decker. While she focused on the aesthetic aspects, Eric handled the technical aspects of the planning. Together, they ensured that the room had the proper measurements and layout.
When it came to selecting a color scheme, Decker was clear about her preferences. She opted for terracotta and olive green, which perfectly complemented the Colorado-inspired theme. However, she admitted feeling overwhelmed by the advancements in baby product technology that have emerged in the ten years since she started having children.
'I'm continuously blown away by the technology and the things that they've come up with to make it easier for new mothers where I was like, 'Wait a minute, where was this when I was starting out?'' Decker expressed.
Aside from the color scheme, Decker added personal touches to the nursery. She hung a piece of artwork she had painted herself and displayed a 'gorgeous homemade rosary' gifted to her by her mother at her baby shower.
Decker's three other children, sons Eric Jr. (8) and Forrest (5), and daughter Vivianne (9), eagerly assisted in preparing the nursery for their new sibling's arrival. Decker shared that they have been 'such a big help' throughout the process.
The joyful news of Decker's pregnancy was announced in August 2023. Interestingly, Decker revealed that her husband, Eric, refused to undergo a vasectomy, leading to the couple's decision to have another child.
'He says it takes, like, his manhood away from him,' Decker playfully shared. 'So he's just gonna leave it, I guess.'
