Jessie J in tears before leaving four-month-old son for the first time

Jessie J was left in tears as she shared her heartbreak having leave her son with her partner while she travelled to South Korea for work.

The Who You Are singer, 35, welcomed her first child, Sky, earlier this year with basketball player boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman, 39.

Since her son’s arrival, the British hitmaker – real name Jessica Cornish – has documented the highs and lows of parenthood on social media.

And now, the songstress took to Instagram to share her upset over leaving her little one with her partner at home for a work trip, which she admitted she was “dreading”.

Posting a video of herself in tears over the idea of being away from Sky, she wrote alongside it: “Me every time I think about it.”

Jessie then posted a comparison picture of Sky, looking adorable in a pumpkin hat, writing: “Meanwhile Sky will be at home like…”

Jessie reached out for words of advice and encouragement from other parents who have felt the same whirlwind of emotions when it comes to being separated from their children.

She penned on another Instagram Story: “I have had one night away from Sky since he was born. I have to leave for work next week for Korea for four days and I am legit dreading leaving him.”

The Price Tag singer went on to ask: “Any advice or tips making it feel less s**t?”

Jessie also addressed claims that she could just take her son along for the trip, explaining: “And yes I know some of you will think, ‘Just take him with you’… But it’s too much flying and time difference for such a short trip.

“I would have him in my pocket at all times if I could. Not literally. I don’t have a pocket big enough.”

Jessie rounded off her sentiments by saying that she’ll need “support and reassurance” throughout the trip, but insisted she’ll take “deep breaths” before travelling without her little one.

Jessie announced her son’s arrival in May on Instagram, writing at the time: “A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world, and my heart grew twice the size.

“The feeling is indescribable; I am flying in love. He is magic. He is literally all my dreams come true. He is my whole world.”

In November 2021, the singer revealed she had had a miscarriage ahead of performing a gig in LA, just one month after splitting from boyfriend Max Pham after seven months of dating.
